Done and delivered.

2. Dale to contact all UERRA WP2 organisations and produce a draft white paper on regional reanalysis Copernicus proposal.

Still to be done and will be done for mid-end of June.

3. Andrea will circulate the latest version of the output parameter table to the MST and WP4 incl ECMWF.

Done. Final version has been produced and Per will pass it to ECMWF.

4. Per will write an abstract for the EMS to be checked by the MST. Deadline 24 April.

  1. Progress report and updates

1. WP1:

The students at URV have now succeeded to digitise 5.3 M data from 100 stations and mainly post 1961 (Slovenia and Germany being currently digitized, while Spain still in waiting). The QC software has been and is being further developed. Phil and Richard Cornes will go to KNMI to improve the interpolation routines for E-OBS.

2. WP2:

The Met Office work is progressing with testing and is following schedule. SMHI and MF are running their 5 year two physics (and MF more differences) reanalyses and the SMHI Deliverable D2.5 is still delayed for the summer.

3. WP3:

There has been a lot of work on iterating the Archive Parameter Table, which was quite a large deviation from the plan. This has postponed the development of the portable software in R, but the work is ongoing. Michael Borsche and Cristian Lusanna will work together in May in order todevelop a portable starting set of software, version controlled with git, aiming to deliver the delayed D3.3 at the end of May. The first implementation may just use the in-situ data from Germany and Norway, to demonstrate the software. They are planning to meet early June and work together to add components from HARP and the R-verification package later. Inclusion of the satellite data will follow. As soon as the Mars archive is ready, appropriate reading routines will be added. In this sense, WP3 is the first user of the UERRA Mars archive.

4. WP4 :

The Data plan D4.2 is delayed but Wim Som de Cerff is discussing with CLIPC and ECMWF and a first version exists. The aim is to have it ready at the end of May.

ECMWF will write and action plan of what can and will be produced at ECMWF and the dependencies in WP3 and WP4.

5: WP5:

Nothing special to mention.

6/7 WP6,7:

A Newsletter will be produced and the work has started.

8: WP8:

D8.1 (A plan and review of user consultation) is delayed but should be ready soon. (? ).

A plan for the User Workshop 1 has been written and circulated (just the day before the meeting). See also below.

9. WP9:

The common Web portal through CLIPC (D9.2). Still nothing new (?)

  1. Archiving of RA outputs

Michael has now made the final Parameter table and circulated it. WP3 wishes to leave this now and Per will forward it to ECMWF for their final considerations. Per will continue the coordination with WP2 if any changes are needed.

  1. Copernicus Climate Change Service: UERRA approach

Dale will consult WP2 and write a proposal. Discussions will continue at the observation WS.

  1. UERRA User Workshop

Gé Verver has written a plan for the User Workshop which is circulated before the meeting. It seems good even if was circulated too late for all to consider it. The WP2 producers should be there to explain the reanalysis products. UERRA has 3000 Euro in the budget for invited speakers.

It will be co-located with the GA 2016 and just after that meeting.

  1. Other Meetings

ECMWF observation requirements for Copernicus Workshop 30/6-3/7. Several from UERRA will attend including most from the MST. Discussions will take place there about the UERRA approach.

EMS/ECAM meeting in 7-11 September. Per submitted abstracts to both CL6 and CL10 and we have material for both sessions without much overlap, if accepted by the conveners. The priority is for the Copernicus Services, CL10.

  1. Next MST meeting

A doodle for middle of June.

  1. Other things.

Our PO will leave for ECMWF and will be replaced by Monica Kacik at REA on 1 August.

  1. Action points

1. Dale to contact all UERRA WP2 organisations and produce a draft white paper on regional reanalysis Copernicus proposal.

2. Per will pass the Parameter list (and UERRA model comparison table) to ECMWF.
